ICAM Series Summary

StreamGM’s creative career podcast series: In Conversations & Masterclasses (ICAM) has wrapped after a successful first season.

ICAM featured 16 talented and diverse artists, DJ’s, composers,producers,creatives, performers, songwriters and musicians all discussing their experiences and how they started out in music and creative arts industries. The four part discussion show was filmed and produced in Cheetham Hill’s cultural epicentre: The Yard Mcr.

Produced by the founder of popular Manchester based events and arts collective, RebeccaNeverBecky & renowned DJ Mix-Stress AKA Rebecca Swarray; In Conversations & Masterclasses gives viewers relatable and engaging insight into different creative professions. All contributors have spoken frankly about their individual crafts, different creative methods, performance styles, influences, useful lessons learned, coping mechanisms, the realities of the job, and offered advice for aspiring artists on how to set themselves apart from the rest.

The first episode: ‘Music Production’ is hosted by producer/composer SCAPA and featured breakthrough DJ/producers: Shy One, Sarah Bates and Noelle.

Performance artist Meme Gold facilitates the second episode ‘Performance, Artistry and Creating Your Own Sound, with northern breakthrough artists China Lily, Phenicia and Is33n offering their insight and experiences.

Our third episode hosted by songwriter and producer HUSK explores: Art of Songwriting & Creativity in Music - Joining HUSK is Daley a renowned Manchester based singer songwriter/creative artist, musician/songwriter Ellen Beth Abdi and R&B singer/songwriter FLISS. 

The final episode: ‘The DJ Journey’ is hosted by series producer, DJ Mix-Stress and with DJ’ing duo Shimrise, Atalaya and Abena, discussing tales from the dancefloors and personal experiences for aspiring DJ’s.
